OPEN BAZAAR, Embassy Restaurant.....

ABOUT DAY:

It was the first outing of Edulift. It was Saturday morning 10:00 am we started our outing from our institution. We were like 16 students from different stream. Our outing was held in Embassy hotel in Lazimpat which is just opposite to Japan embassy. And event was organized by Change Fusion Organization. The event was about the change makers and social business organization, where lots of entrepreneur were together in one place. There were open bazaar with numbers of stalls. Some of them were Handicrafts, electronic medical machines, food stalls, and about massage therapists etc. We round all the bazaar and got to know about different new things and specially about the social business organization, where the poor back ground status and widow women were supported to raise their livelihood. And in the medical stall we got an opportunity to check our heartbeat and blood pressure with new electronic medical machines. And lots of health tips, the kiwi fruit was the new thing I knew  that it was good for skin. And about food stall, I taste something new that I haven't before. It was newari dish called Yomari and  Bara which was really good in taste. And at last for entertainment we had Magic show by magician Andreu, who was from Barcelona. The event and day was really wonderful that it make us to know lots of good new things and make our friendship bond more stronger by participating together in the bazaar. It was one of the best experienced in my life too.

The bazaar quite small but it was full of new stuffs. There were lots of social business organization, charity and work shops etc. There were different stalls of each organization and they were with their products, skills and creations. It was full of new and good things to learn, some of the stalls we visit are as follows.......

Seeing Hands Nepal is a UK Registered Charity, set up to provide training and employment opportunities in massage therapy for young blind people in Nepal.  It is an social enterprise providing training and jobs for blind people in Nepal as professional massage therapists.

well, for me it is a good opportunities for the blind people and it was really a new creation that a blind can be good therapists. And seeing hands is helping them to generate their own incomes and independent lives.



The Blind therapists are well trained by experienced remedial/sport massage tutors from the UK and overseas. And currently there are two Seeing Hands massage clinics, Pokhara and Kathmandu.

 SABAH Nepal is a social-business organization which works towards making the livelihoods of poor and needy women home based workers . Since its establishment it has been reducing  in on its mission of empowering the rural and urban poor women working in the informal sector through economic self-sufficiency. 
 They creates ladies woven garments, ladies fashion garments, designers ladies garments that are hand crafted using some of the finest natural fabrics available in Nepal.
This organization is good for helping the needy and poor women to start their livelihood and it also give an opportunities for women to show their skills and creativity. 
And even SABAH collection has also steals the shows that their works are has been popular all over the Nepal and specially in Nepal fashion collections. And Sabah Nepal has open its flagship store too.
The some of SABAH Nepal collections and skills;


SABAH (SAARC Business Association of Home Based Workers) Nepal’s skill enhancing trainings on cooking and hygiene has enabled these home based workers cook like professionals. Food is hygienically prepared without using MSG or any other food additives that is bad for your health. And we did taste few of their items like Yomari and Bara. The women were working together in their stalls by making different types of Newari dishes and earning certain amount for their organization.
Wow you like "THE NEWARI DISH YOMARI" ....... I had it would you like to have it ...... LOL

(3) FRIEND HANDICRAFTS

The Friend Handicrafts is a workshop, where their main motive is to "believe in creativity " and " A complete felt production". They were with their lots of handicrafts products like ladies purse, bag and accessories etc which were made of wool. And their products and wool were mostly exported from  country like New Zealand. Their price were also reasonable and appropriate to purchase.

 Finally my conclusion: 

There were lots of sections beside the above information, but the above were the few things I like the most and felt important in that event. Thanks to Edulift and our advisor miss Luna Shrestha Thakuri that for giving us such a wonderful opportunities to visit over there and to make us learn new and creative things. The event make me feel more knowledgeable, creative and make my day awesome. The event make knew lots of Nepalese background and about the social business organization which helps the poor and disables to live their livelihood. It was new experienced in my life that i visit such event that make me change my conservative mind and thoughts. Hence, I will be looking forward for such event again in upcoming days. Once again a tons and tons of thank to Edulift for such opportunities. Today I'm glad to being a part of Edulift.
